She is an active member of and certified by test to teach by Florida Dance Masters, Inc., and is honored to serve as FDM’s parliamentarian, historian, and director of the Royal Dance Festival. Throughout her teaching career, Miss Christy has had the privilege of studying under dance greats such as Al Gilbert, Janice Barringer, Nick Gonzalez, Densil Adams, Todd Shanks, Eric "Silky" Moore, and others. She has directed/choreographed countless productions. Miss Christy is a state ambassador for the National Dance Week Foundation and the facilitator for the Hernando County Community Alliance. Miss Christy encourages her dancers to perform in the community and to diversify their dance training in as many ways as possible. Her greatest joy is found in sharing her experiences in the performing arts with her children, Delaney, Molly, and Brendan Shannon, and her husband, Joel.
